So…this is long overdue, but I can blame not posting anything for this long on the move. So finishing up our time in Columbus we were packing and getting ready for the move. The big crisis that happened when we were about to move was when we were talking with a neighbor that knew of several people that went through the same company that we had booked, and because of the height of the trailer, it would not fit into our street, and would have to park about 1 block away, which was going to be rough. We panicked, trying to figure out what we wanted to do, and in this process we checked one of the places that we originally thought about moving with, and their prices dropped significantly. So we canceled our reservation with the first company, then added the second company. The move went without any real problems over all. We traveled in our car, and our things went through the company we chose. Also throughout the last month of so that we were in Columbus, we did several things with friends from Columbus, including a trip toe the zoo, where Glenn really liked the goats.
We left Columbus in the late afternoon, traveling about4-5 hours and stopped for the night in Indiana. Then we traveled the next day to KS, MO to stay with Amanda’s sister. While in KS, we stopped at the Independence visitors center, also the temple for a quick outside look.
Then after KS, we went to Denver to stay with Paul’s aunt and uncle. We stayed the night and got to see their animals in their barn, Glenn really liked that. On the way to Denver, we stopped for gas, and found a giant replica of a Van Gogh painting in Kansas.
Then we traveled to Cheyenne, and we visited with Paul’s sister-in-law and kids. Paul & Amanda also met with a Dr. who is thinking about selling his practice in the next few years. Then we stopped in Logan the next day and visited with the family that was there. Finally we arrived at our home in Idaho, but with no furniture, as ours would be another week coming. We had lots of time to think about and plan how we wanted the house, which was probably good as it had less storage space, so we needed to use every space wisely.
Paul started work in July, and it has been a gradual process getting used to things outside of the college setting. Amanda has also been getting used to everything here, finding parks to go to and places to walk with the kids. We have spent lots of time and days visiting with family here in the valley, which has been really great. we are anticipating the arrival of Paul's parents in the next week or so to the valley.
