So this is to give some more information Glenn, and everything that has happened in the last week and a half. Amada’s due date was Nov 28th, and when she went to her weekly appointment, on thursday Dec. 2nd, she and the midwife decided to induce that evening. She called me at school and I met her on campus (which is where the hospital is) and got checked into the delivery unit. Amanda was started on an IV drip of Pitocin around 9pm and soon after she started having contractions. Within a few hours Amanda was having pretty intense contractions. The nurse came in and checked her, and she was dilated to a 6. Then the nurse gave her some IV medication, then in about 15 minutes Amanda started saying she felt like she needed to push. I didn’t really believe her at first, so I told her to wait for another 10-15 to see what would happen. Amanda didn’t make it longer than about 10 and she was really insisting that she needed to “push”. We called the nurse and she checked and Amanda was dilated to a 9.5 and the nurse called in the Resident. Amanda started to push soon and the midwife was called and almost didn’t make it there. With 45 minutes of “pushing” Glenn was born at 2:57am.
Then After Glenn Birth, we went to the recovery room, where the cleaned up Glenn and got Amanda ready for everything. Over the next couple of days nothing too interesting happened. I was busy with school and preparing for finals (which they all went fine) and Amanda stayed in the Hospital with her mom and dad to help.
We were at the Hospital for a few days, then we brought Glenn and mom home. Amanda’s mom and dad were here for another couple of days helping out, but from then on, it’s just been Mom, Dad, and Glenn…working as a family to grow together.
We love the Pictures and the video! Love Mother, Dad and Marvin
