More stuff of Glenn & Us

So here are some more pictures and things that have been happening in the last month since I last posted.  I have to say, I never thought I would put so much stuff on the blog about Glenn, and be excited doing it too.

We had our family pictures taken this last month and have not gotten around to showing them.  So here are some professional pictures that we had taken about a month or so ago.

Here are some pictures of Glenn during bath time.  I know as a first time parent this is probably more interesting that it may be for the rest of you parents, but we thought it might be fun to pass along.

Here is a video of the occasion.

Another interesting fun experiment.  One of the sisters that watches Glenn for us while Amanda is working gave us a bouncy hanger thingy, since they are moving in a couple of months.  We put Glenn into it and he is definetly not ready for it, but we had fun watching him try it out.

We blessed Glenn Today.  It was nice, but we did miss having family around.  Here are some picture that we took of all of us.

Happy New Year

So, here are few new changes that have happened since the last post, or things that we haven’t put on the blog since the last post.  First we will show the progression of pregnancy pics of Amanda, we haven’t really calculated what months these are, but they are all ~ 1 month apart.

Now we will add some pics from Christmas.  Glenn  Has been growing underneath our eyes and its crazy to think how old he is now.

Another new member or our family.  After a challenging summer with multiple mechanical meltdowns and some expensive repairs, we decided that with a new baby, we didn’t trust our old vehicle.  I must say about the old girl, she was faithful to us and kept us running through her 165,000 miles, so we feel is was a graceful step down for her. Our new vehicle is a Hyundai Elantra.  We bought it after I was done with the semester and could devote time to shopping, comparison, and test driving.

Last, here is a picture of Amanda after a month from delivery, she was given her clean bill of health and is ready again to do all the things she could before, at least so say the doctors, but she is not sure she wants to start doing some things (like lifting heavier things, housework, etc.)

Glenn Pyrah Bingham

So this is to give some more information Glenn, and everything that has happened in the last week and a half.  Amada’s due date was Nov 28th, and when she went to her weekly appointment, on thursday Dec. 2nd, she and the midwife decided to induce that evening.  She called me at school and I met her on campus (which is where the hospital is) and got checked into the delivery unit.  Amanda was started on an IV drip of Pitocin around 9pm and soon after she started having contractions.  Within a few hours Amanda was having pretty intense contractions.  The nurse came in and checked her, and she was dilated to a 6.  Then the nurse gave her some IV medication, then in about 15 minutes Amanda started saying she felt like she needed to push.  I didn’t really believe her at first, so I told her to wait for another 10-15 to see what would happen.  Amanda didn’t make it longer than about 10 and she was really insisting that she needed to “push”.  We called the nurse and she checked and Amanda was dilated to a 9.5 and the nurse called in the Resident.  Amanda started to push soon and the midwife was called and almost didn’t make it there.  With 45 minutes of “pushing” Glenn was born at 2:57am.

Then After Glenn Birth, we went to the recovery room, where the cleaned up Glenn and got Amanda ready for everything. Over the next couple of days nothing too interesting happened.  I was busy with school and preparing for finals (which they all went fine) and Amanda stayed in the Hospital with her mom and dad to help.

We were at the Hospital for a few days, then we brought Glenn and mom home.  Amanda’s mom and dad were here for another couple of days helping out, but from then on, it’s just been Mom, Dad, and Glenn…working as a family to grow together.

This Fall….

Hi Everyone.  We haven’t have too many interesting things happen this fall, but here are some of the things that we have done that we have some pictures of.

EAST/WEST EYE CONFERENCE

I (Paul) attended the East/West Eye Conference this October in Cleveland, OH.  It was a pretty fun time.  I went up to Cleveland on Thursday night, and stayed in Downtown Cleveland and was ready to attend the conference bright and early Friday morning.  I attended a few of the lectures and also was a “guinea pig” during one workshop to help Optometrists practice new skills/procedures that have been added over the last little bit.  I also attended a little            hors d’ouevre mingle with the Dr’s that I work with and met and talked with the current and president-elect for the AOA (American Optometric Association).  Then I came back to Columbus late Friday evening, so I could study for a test the next week.

Halloween…

This Halloween was pretty fun.  We started the fun with a party that a couple of my classmates had.  Then we carved pumpkins.  It was fun, but more work than planned because we tried some of the more tricky plans that you can get with the carving kits.  The best part, for Amanda at least, is she actually got to hand out candy.  Last year we missed it, because here in Columbus they don’t actually do trick or treating on Halloween, they do it usually a day or two before (they call it beggars' night).  This year she was prepared, and was really excited to see a lot of the neighborhood kids come trick or treating. Below are the pumpkins that we carved out.

BABY…

Here are some updated pictures that have to do with the baby.  Some of Amanda and some of the nursery (which is almost now completely ready to go).  The other half is not quite so finished looking.
