Dear Family…This has been quite an eventful last few months. The biggest changes occurred with my “transfer” for work to a busier location. The kids seemed to handle things pretty well, at least after the first week. We really like the extra space that we have in our “new” place.
Misc. Pictures: Amanda went through our baby clothes, we found Kayla’s blessing dress and it looked surprisingly big, so we decided to try it on, and it fit amazingly well, so we just had to take a picture. Before we left we tried to do as much as we could that we needed to get done or things we liked to do in Jerome. Also, Glenn’s dental exam (he was very nervous most of the time)
For Halloween we went to a pumpkin patch and the kids got to ride (or at least Kayla did). We got lots of little decorative pumpkins and some to paint with Glenn and the rest of us. They had a petting zoo, Kayla liked it, but Glenn didn’t like the loud noises some of the animals made.
Here are some picture of our move. There were lots of complications with our actual move day. Not having to do with anything we hadn’t done. First the rental company told us the previous tenant had just barely moved out the previous day, so they hadn’t been able to clean the apartment, which means we couldn’t move our things in (which means we had a moving van full of stuff with no where to put it, and I had to be back in Jerome the next day to work, plus moving help was coming that day to help out). Also, we were told that the first month’s rent we paid had to be done via money order (something they neglected to tell us), so we wouldn’t be allowed to occupy the premises until that was paid. Amanda had to stop on the way and get that taken care of with both kids in tow. In the end things worked out alright, the previous tenants were actually pretty clean, so they agreed to just do the worst areas (kitchen, bathrooms) and then we could move in that afternoon.
Shortly after moving in, there was a pretty bad snow storm (8+ inches) which is much more than this area usually gets. We didn’t have a snow shovel or anything to clean off the sidewalks, but the kids enjoyed getting out in the snow.
Glenn and Kayla have really liked our backyard. It has lots of places to walk around and play with cars including some dirt and mud and bumps. Glenn didn’t get a fancy cake like last year, but he got to decorate cookies at Gma B’s house. Dad took a large cardboard box and drew a little town on it for his cars to drive around on.
Christmas the year was fun. Glenn got some extra trains and more track pieces, and he really likes it. Kayla got some more girly toys, but still prefers Glenn’s cars.
We also decorated a gingerbread house (Glenn’s request) and they got some stuff for fun baths (foam soap and water colors)
Lastly, our Buckeyes won the National College Football Playoffs. We didn’t get to watch the game on TV, but we listened to it live on Columbus radio.
I love the bright bathtub water!!!!!!! Miss you guys :(
